Chair Prof. Lei CHEN, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), China (IEEE Fellow)

Lei Chen,  is a chair professor in the data science and analytic thrust at HKUST (GZ), Fellow of the IEEE, and a Distinguished Member of the ACM. Currently, Prof. Chen serves as the dean of information hub,  the director of Big Data Institute at HKUST (GZ). Prof. Chen’s research interests include Data-driven AI, Big Data Analytics, Metaverse, knowledge graphs, blockchains, data privacy, crowdsourcing, spatial and temporal databases and probabilistic databases. He received his BS degree in computer science and engineering from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, MA degree from Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand, and PhD in computer science from the University of Waterloo, Canada. Prof. Chen received the SIGMOD Test-of-Time Award in 2015, Best research paper award in VLDB 2022, .The system developed by Prof. Chen’s team won the excellent demonstration award in VLDB 2014. Prof. Chen had served as VLDB 2019 PC Co-chair. Currently, Prof. Chen serves as Editor-in-chief of IEEE Transaction on Data and Knowledge Engineering and General Co-Chair of VLDB 2024.

Prof. Yunjun Gao, Zhejiang University, China
Yunjun Gao is now a Qiushi distinguished professor at the College of Computer Science, Zhejiang University (ZJU), Hangzhou, China. He received the Ph.D. degree in computer science from ZJU in 2008. Prior to joining ZJU in 2010, he was a research assistant or postdoctoral research fellow (scientist) or visiting professor/scholar in the City University of Hong Kong (CityU, China), Singapore Management University (SMU, Singapore), Simon Fraser University (SFU, Canada), Nanyang Technological University (NTU, Singapore), and the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS, Australia), respectively. His primary research areas are Database, Big Data Management and Analytics, and AI Interaction with DB Technology. In particular, his current research interests include Data Governance, Data-Driven Machine Learning, Big Graph Data Management and Mining, Metric and Incomplete/Uncertain Data Management, Data Privacy Preservation, Geo-Social Data Processing, Data Pricing, Database Usability, and Spatial and Spatio-Temporal Databases. He has published more than 230 papers on several premium/leading journals including ACM Computing Surveys, TODS, VLDBJ, TKDE, TPDS, TOIS, TMC, TFS, TC, TKDD, TITS, TSMCA, and DKE, and various prestigious international conferences such as SIGMOD, VLDB, ICDE, SIGKDD, SIGIR, NeurIPS, IJCAI, AAAI, CVPR, EDBT, CIKM, and DASFAA. He is a senior member of the CCF and IEEE; a member of the ACM; a/an (young) editorial board member or associate editor of TKDE, JCST, FCS, DAPD, DSE, and Journal of Computer Research and Development (in Chinese); and a guest editor of FCS, WWWJ, IJDSN, and DSE. Prof. Ye Yuan, Beijing Institute of Technology, China
Yuan Ye is currently a professor, doctoral supervisor and national leading talent at the School of Computer Science, Beijing Institute of Technology. He presided over key projects of the National Natural Fund and key research and development projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology. He has won the first prize of Nature of the Chinese Society of Electronics, the first prize of Science and Technology Progress of the Ministry of Education and Liaoning Province, the National Excellent doctoral thesis nomination Award, and the excellent doctoral thesis Award of the Chinese Computer Society. Dr. Yuan is a member of the Database Committee of China Computer Society, a member of the Big Data Expert Committee, a member of the distributed System Committee, a member of the Information Service Committee of the Artificial Intelligence Society, a senior member of the China Computer Society, and a senior member of IEEE and ACM. Visiting scholar, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of Edinburgh, UK. He has published more than 100 papers in SIGMOD, VLDB, ICDE, VLDB Journal, IEEE Trans.TKDE, IEEE Trans.TPDS and other important academic conferences and journals.

Prof. Shuyin Xia, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China
Xia Shuyin, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, National Excellent Youth, Chongqing Outstanding Youth, Chongqing Talents, Vice Dean of the School of Computer Science, Vice Dean of the Frontier Cross Research Institute, and Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Cyberspace Big Data Intelligent Computing of the Ministry of Education. Hosted multiple national key research and development projects, including the National Key R&D Program and the National Natural Science Foundation of China's original exploration, and proposed/developed the theory of granular computing with Professor Wang Guoyin and Professor Gao Xinbo. The related achievements were first published/communicated in important artificial intelligence journals and conferences such as IEEE TPAMI, TKDE, TNNLS, TCYB, ICML, AAAI, ICDE, etc. Won the CCF Natural Science First Prize, Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Technology Progress First Prize, Chongqing Natural Science First Prize, and National Teaching Achievement Second Prize. Research directions: Particle computing, computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, evolutionary computing, and swarm intelligence.
